Air Fryer Chicken Taquitos are crispy, golden‑brown rolled tortillas filled with seasoned shredded chicken and cheese. They’re cooked in the air fryer for a healthier crunch and make a perfect snack, appetizer, or easy dinner that’s fun to dip and share.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 810 small flour or corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)
  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning or a mix of chili powder, cumin, and garlic powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil or cooking spray
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)
  • Salsa, guacamole, or sour cream for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix shredded chicken with taco seasoning, salt, pepper, and half the shredded cheese. Stir to combine.
  2. Warm tortillas in the microwave for 10–15 seconds until pliable.
  3. Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of the chicken mixture onto the lower third of each tortilla. Sprinkle with extra cheese if desired.
  4. Roll each tortilla tightly and secure with a toothpick if needed.
  5. Brush lightly with olive oil or spray with cooking spray.
  6. Preheat air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
  7. Place taquitos in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
  8. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flip, then cook an additional 4–6 minutes until golden and crispy.
  9. Remove from air fryer, let cool slightly, and garnish with cilantro if using. Serve with dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Use flour tortillas for easier rolling and crisp texture.
  • Warm tortillas before rolling to prevent cracking.
  • Store uncooked taquitos in the freezer and air fry directly from frozen as needed.
  • Customize filling with beans, veggies, or spicy additions like jalapeños.
