Homemade air fryer chicken nuggets that are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and healthier than deep-fried versions. Perfect for kids, parties, or quick meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Olive oil spray or cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized nugget pieces.
  2. Prepare three bowls: flour in one, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in the third.
  3. Coat each chicken piece in flour, then egg, then breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Spray basket lightly with oil and arrange nuggets in a single layer.
  6. Spray tops of nuggets with oil.
  7. Air fry 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through (165°F/74°C internal temp).
  8. Serve hot with dipping sauce of choice.

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the basket to ensure even crisping.
  • For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs.
  • Freeze breaded nuggets before cooking for easy make-ahead meals.
