Air Fryer Candied Walnuts are sweet, crunchy, and perfectly spiced walnuts made in under 15 minutes. Great for snacking, salad toppings, or holiday gifting, they’re quick, easy, and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups raw walnut halves
  2. 1 egg white
  3. 1/2 cup granulated sugar or brown sugar
  4. 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  5. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  6. 1/4 tsp salt
  7. Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper or 1 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, whisk egg white until frothy.

  1. Add sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir to combine.
  2. Toss walnut halves in the mixture until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 300°F (150°C). Lightly grease or line basket with parchment if safe for your model.
  4. Spread coated walnuts in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  5. Air fry 8–10 minutes, shaking basket halfway through. Watch closely to prevent burning.
  6. Cook 1–2 minutes longer if needed, until golden and caramelized.
  7. Remove and let cool completely. Walnuts will crisp as they cool.

Notes

  • Cool fully before storing to keep nuts crisp.
  • Shake basket during cooking to avoid clumps.
  • Try with pecans, almonds, or cashews for variety.
