Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings are crispy, juicy, and tossed in classic buffalo sauce—all with less oil and mess than traditional frying. Perfect for game day or easy weeknight snacking!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings (split into flats and drumettes)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (aluminum-free)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper or smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a large bowl, toss wings with baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  4. Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd—cook in batches if needed.
  5. Cook for 25–28 minutes, flipping halfway, until wings are golden and crispy.
  6. While wings cook, melt butter in a small saucepan. Stir in hot sauce and optional cayenne or paprika. Set aside.
  7. Once wings are done, toss immediately in buffalo sauce to coat evenly.
  8. Serve hot with ranch or blue cheese dressing and celery sticks.

Notes

  • Dry wings = crispier texture. Don’t skip patting them dry.
  • For extra crispy skin, increase cook time by 2–3 minutes or let wings rest uncovered in fridge before air frying.
  • Taste and adjust sauce heat with more butter (milder) or hot sauce (spicier).
