Air Fryer Bang Bang Salmon Bites are a flavorful and healthy dish that takes the richness of salmon and elevates it with a creamy, spicy, and tangy sauce. These bite-sized pieces of salmon are coated in a light, crispy crust and paired with a zesty “bang bang” sauce for an unforgettable flavor experience.

Ingredients

  1. 1 lb fresh salmon fillets, cut into bite-sized pieces
½ cup breadcrumbs (Panko works best for extra crispiness)
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    Salt and pepper to taste
    For the Bang Bang Sauce:
    ¼ cup mayonnaise
    2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
    1 teaspoon honey
    1 teaspoon rice vinegar

Instructions

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

  1. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and rice vinegar to create the bang bang sauce. Adjust the amount of sriracha for more or less heat.
  2. Season the salmon pieces with salt and pepper, then coat them lightly in olive oil.
  3. Dredge each piece of salmon in breadcrumbs, ensuring each piece is coated evenly.
  4. Place the coated salmon bites in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Be sure they don’t overlap for even cooking.
  5. Air fry the salmon bites at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the salmon is crispy on the outside and cooked through (the internal temperature should reach 145°F or 63°C).
  6. Drizzle the bang bang sauce over the cooked salmon bites or serve it as a dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add more sriracha or a dash of cayenne pepper to the sauce.
  • Add shredded coconut to the breadcrumb mixture for a tropical twist.
  • Swap the salmon for shrimp to make crispy Bang Bang Shrimp bites.
  • Use gluten-free breadcrumbs or almond flour to make the recipe gluten-free.
